Steampunk Novel. Finally forward progress! Slower than I’d like, but I’m about two-thirds of the way through chapter four, the most new writing this project has seen in more years than I’d care to remember. But I do need to up my game on daily pages so that I have a complete manuscript before year’s end.
Shared-World Novella. This is the one with an acquiring editor. No updates yet; traditional publishing is a slow business. (Previously known as Novella #2, I’ve decided to drop the numbering scheme so that I can report on only my more active projects without having missing numbers on the list!)
The Satellite Dish. I finished the latest revisions on this lit-fic follow-up to my first published short story, “The Mailbox.” I haven’t done my red-pen markup yet, but I want to get some beta readers on it first.
Editing/Work for Hire. I copyedited Dave Mack‘s forthcoming Star Trek Next Generation novel, Collateral Damage and, because there’s never enough Star Trek, I also worked on the Delta Quadrant Sourcebook for Star Trek Adventures. Two previous STA releases I also worked on, the Star Trek Adventures Starter Set and the Command Division Supplemental Rulebook, are nominees in the 2019 Origins Awards! In the final days of the month a new project arrived from Baen, Straight Outta Deadwood, a weird Western anthology. I also copyedited the previous one, Straight Outta Tombstone.
